We also stock packaged treats that will interest even a finicky bird. We stock natural branches, swings, ropes, toys and playperches to help keep your bird physically and mentally healthy. Our quality selection of cages will ease the decision of the right home for your bird.

Our fascination with birds began as a hobby in the late 1970's with finches, lories and hanging parrots. When Claudia & Bob purchased Your Basic Bird in 1981, the hobby had become their business. Your Basic Bird's primary focus has always been birds but they offer a full line of dog, cat & small animal supplies and other companion animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats & hamsters).
After 38 years the fascination is still there and we continue to learn more about birds ever day. Claudia always says that this passion for these amazing creatures is "in your blood" once you have experienced birds it is difficult to imagine life without them.
